Early April, 2008, a stray dog wandered into our
yard. He was wearing a collar but no ID tags, and so we left
him alone but he didn't leave. We looked for his owner,
reporting a found dog to the sheriff and the local vets, but no
luck. After a couple days, we fed him and he was
ravenous! He remained outside, we called him the "goldie
dog". But after a week, and a couple days of the goldie
dog sleeping in the rain, we knew we had to either adopt him or
take him to the pound. We adopted him. We brought him
in the house, and he was obviously a house dog in his previous
life. He was already housebroken, and had very nice
manners. We named him Rudy, as in "Rudolph the red
nosed dog" because of his reddish nose, which was even redder
than normal as he had scraped it somehow. Rudy and Amber
became great friends after Amber established who was the
"alpha dog" (her) and now they are inseparable.
They play and wrestle and enrich our lives abundantly. |
