Session 3:  Graphics and Pictures

Important Information Regarding Photographs and Graphics

  • Photographs may not include names of students.  If a student is wearing a nametag, I can smudge the name with a special photo editing  tool so it will not be shown.

  • Students may not be identified.

  • Please do not use copyrighted material!

  • Make sure you have permission from the parents to put their child's picture on the web.

  • Photographs will be optimized for smaller file sizes.

Where can I find clipart for my documents?

There are several ways to acquire clipart.  Let's look at each of these possibilities.

  • If you're feeling artistic, you can make it yourself with a drawing program such as Paint or Microsoft Word's drawing tools.  Kid Pix has some interesting possibilities as well.

  • Get it from the Internet.

  • Purchase a commercial clipart program.

  • Convert a paper picture into a digital one by scanning it into your computer.

  • Use a "wingdings" font.

  • Digital Cameras

  • Use the clipart that comes with Microsoft Office (assuming, of course, that you have access to Microsoft Office and that the clipart is installed!)  ClarisWorks has some limited clipart under "File", then "Show Clippings."  Just drag the clipart into your ClarisWorks document.
